Privacy

ZeroFront is a free browser game. You can play without an account, and we collect only what the game needs to run, to keep matches fair, and to understand how many people play. We do not sell data, show ads or use third-party trackers.

If you play as a guest

  • Your browser stores a random profile id and secret, your display name and your settings in local storage. The id is how your level and stats are saved; it is not linked to who you are.
  • When you finish a match we store its result (mode, map, score, kills, deaths, length) against that profile id, for your progression and the leaderboard.

If you create an account

  • We store your username, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself), your operator's look and your stats.
  • Signing in sets a session cookie (or, in the Android app, a token kept on the device).
  • You can delete your account and all its history at any time from the game's account panel.

While the game is open

Every open game tab checks in about every 30 seconds so we can see how many people are online and playing, and so moderators can act on cheating or abuse. Each check-in records:

  • your profile id, display name and what you are doing (menus, solo, campaign or an online room and its code);
  • your approximate location (country, region and city, and coordinates rounded to about 10 km) as reported by our hosting provider from your IP address;
  • the kind of device (desktop, phone, tablet or the app);
  • a salted, one-way hash of your IP address. The address itself is never stored; the hash is used only to enforce bans.

The live check-in record is deleted after a day. A daily count of unique visitors (profile id, country, device and whether you played) is kept for up to 400 days for usage statistics. Your profile also keeps when you were last seen and your last country.

Online rooms

In an online room the room server receives your position, aim and actions so other players can see you, and checks every shot to prevent cheating. Before you join, the site gives the game a short-lived signed pass naming your profile, so moderators can see who is in a room and remove players who break the rules.

Moderation

Moderators can remove a player from a room, ban a profile, or ban the networks a profile played from (matched by the IP hash above). Every moderation action is logged.

Who processes data

The website and its database are hosted by our infrastructure providers (for example Vercel, Neon and Cloudflare), who process data only to run the service. Nothing is shared with advertisers.

Your choices

  • Clear your browser's site data to drop your guest profile id.
  • Delete your account from the account panel in the game.
  • For any other request about your data, contact the ZeroFront team.
