Deadshot.io vs ZeroFront: Which Free Browser Shooter Should You Play?

Search for a free shooter you can play in a browser and two names keep coming up: Deadshot.io and, more recently, ZeroFront. Both are free, both start in seconds, and both are about putting rounds on target. But they are built with different priorities. Here is a straight comparison.
Disclosure: ZeroFront is our game. We have kept the Deadshot.io section to what its public game listings describe, and we encourage you to try both.
The short answer
- Pick Deadshot.io if you want a ranked ladder and movement-driven, competitive lobbies.
- Pick ZeroFront if you want realistic, named firearms, a solo mode against AI, a pistols-only option and a game designed to play well on phones as well as desktops.
What Deadshot.io does well
Deadshot.io is a fast, free multiplayer FPS. Game portals describe modes such as Free-for-All and Team Deathmatch alongside objective modes like Hardpoint, weapon classes including assault rifles, SMGs, snipers and shotguns, and movement built around sliding. Registered players can take part in ranked play. It is a strong choice if you thrive on competition and want to climb a ladder.
What ZeroFront does differently
Real guns with real character
ZeroFront's armoury has 21 real-world weapons in 8 categories: assault rifles (M416, AKM, SCAR-L, AUG A3, Groza), machine guns (M249, PKM), SMGs (MP5, UMP45, Vector), shotguns (M870, S12K), marksman rifles (SKS, Mini 14), sniper rifles (AWM, Kar98k, M24), pistols (M9, Desert Eagle, M1911) and the RPG-7. Each has its own damage, fire rate, magazine, recoil pattern and movement speed — a machine gun slows you down, a pistol does not.
Solo and online
Not in the mood for other players? Solo Survival throws escalating AI waves and rotating objectives at you. When you are ready, create or join an online Free-for-All or Team Deathmatch room for up to 8 players with a five-character room code — easy to share with friends.
Pistols-only matches
Flip one switch and everyone carries only their sidearm. The room server enforces it, so nobody can sneak a rifle in.
Built for phones too
ZeroFront has on-screen touch controls, optional gyro aiming, touch-only aim assist and a performance mode that drops resolution on the fly to hold a smooth frame rate. An Android app is in the works.
Server-checked hits
Every shot in an online room is validated by the server — fire rate, ammo, line of sight and range — so cheating by editing the game in your browser does not work.

Who should play which?
If climbing a ranked ladder is what keeps you coming back, Deadshot.io is built for that. If you want named real-world guns, a solo mode for practice, pistol duels with friends and a shooter that is just as playable on your phone, ZeroFront is worth five seconds of your time. They are both free — the best answer may be to play both.
